Go With The Flow?

Sometimes you just have to go with the flow-even IF you are wanting to swim back upstream instead. : ) I had got SO sick yesterday afternoon on the way to counseling . I thought for sure I had got rid of that problem. But , I was wrong. You know how that car sickness is - stomach rolling and stomach cramps that make you want to cry like a baby. Then the nausea that rolls over you like a freight train- about that time I start to tremble like a flower in the wind. I tried everything I could think of : looking at long distances instead of close up, doing the tapping , getting out and walking around . Finally we arrived in the parking lot and I went over and sat on the ground and pulled on my earlobes and that helped a little . The earth was slowing down a little. My counselor arrived about that time and she was concerned. She thought I had shaken that stuff too. I guess sometimes in this life you just take two steps forward and three steps back-no matter how hard you wish not to.But, I knew when I would see her -I would be alright. When you are around somebody who is so calm and gentle and you can just feel the peaceful vibes -it has to straighten your woes away.  I think that is the difference between living in a balanced world and a world gone wild.

But after I got home I felt so whipped - all energy just gone, but I had to do evening chores and feed us and clean up that mess and eventually go fall in bed, close my eyes and all too soon it was morning. I Longed for some more of that shut-eye stuff, but we had to go to Roanoke to catch up with DH's sister. She was coming in from W.VA. to have the stitches taken out of her back. I have never seen a scar so big. I could tell she was a little sore from the ride in , but she did do a little walking today and that is a wonderful thing for her. It has been several years that she has suffered terribly with her back and to see her walk  was a wonderful thing. After all - we all need to take walks and the older we get the more we need to do that and it seems the more hard it is to accomplish that goal.

They took us out to eat so we could visit together and then we rode with them to look at a couple of car lots to check out some cars because they  are talking about getting a more new vehicle to make it easier for her to get in and out of the car. I knew my spirit was lagging and I just got so tired it was hard to fake it. AFter we got back in our little vehicle I caught a glimpse of my face and  it was turning a bright red -which usually means exhaustion  for me.  Of course the drive home felt endless to me.

After we arrived home  DH went out to mow and I went to tackle paying bills. I really hate that job. It is a never ending battle of attempting to keep the wolf from the door.It always seems to take a  couple of hours. Time that I wish I could have been sewing. Already things have popped up each day of next week. PHOOEY!

The one thing that I am looking forward to is the Sewing Guild meeting where we return with our "Ugly Fabric" projects. I am looking forward to seeing how everybody fared. LOL  I am definitely happy with my project. I am so thrilled that someone let me "trade off some ugly fabric" and gave me a lovely fabric to make the seat covers that the vehicle needed so badly. Doesn't get any better than that in my book.  The DH will be able to put his seat covers on his truck seats and he will be a  happy camper. LOL

I hope you have had a lovely day. They are each so special.
Bye for now! : )

  1. I'm sorry you got so sick... I get car sick sometimes, but certainly not as bad as poor you.
I don't like bill paying either... but it's a necessary evil.

  2. Poor you Linda getting car sick. I remember reading that people used to get air sick a lot back in the '50s when no one was used to flying. It was brought on by fear they say. I hope you'll get rid of the fear you have about travelling in the car very soon.
Have fun at guild with your ugly (not really) seat covers
