Middle of the week already?

I got to go with Crystal to take our lovely pups for an afternoon walk in this drop dead beautiful weather. Daisy just Loves to fuss with Dan , while Indy has calmed down and got use to walking with him .

For some reason after I do my morning chores and a few outdoor things I got so very tired and sick at my stomach. I thought maybe it was because I needed to eat something but instead of a lunch I fixed a poached egg and let that settle my tummy.

I like watching Crystal try to contain her exuberant hound. lol I am so glad I had all my large size dogs when I was young . Now chihuahuas fit me just fine. lol

After we got back I found a tick on me again. This make one each day for the last 3 days. Makes me wonder if that means it will be a bad year for them?? I hope not because I do not want Lyme Disease AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Celebrating a wonderful night out with my daughter

I have just been so swamped and then Crystal had dental surgery and was all swollen up on her face and then she just up and took me on  a Dream Date last night  to see the Celtic Women at a nearby town event. I had always wanted to see them but never thought I would ever get to in my life time.  We had such a wonderful time and everybody that worked to pull the event off was so extremely nice.

They had a intermission and I followed Crystal out to smoke and got a little scared when men pushing in the crowd tried to separate us so I hung  onto her sweater because I was afraid if I lost her I would not be able to See her. She reached back and took my hand and got me through though. She bought me a tea and a soft pretzel and she showed me how to put mustard on it and it was really good-of course we were starving as we had worked hard all day long.

It seemed like the time just flew by and I wished it did not have to end so quickly! This was my first and only concert I have ever been to so I am still buzzing with excitement.

Then after the event I asked Crystal to go see the water feature and a kind gentleman from the eent offered to snap this picture of us. How sweet was that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

End of the week

I managed to get another pair of the Cloud booties completed for my Christmas list. This was a slightly different color than the first four pair I had completed. I am still thinking about putting pom-poms on them but will wait and see if I have any yarn left over ???

Crystal came in from work with some hair coloring and pulled me into partnership with her with putting different colors in her hair.

We put pink up under the base for what she calls a "Peek-A-Boo" effect.

She put the blonde on top with the black around her ears so she can wear them separately .

And then we turned her Mother's Hands pink too!!!!!!!! As she died laughing????? ~smile~

Then she told me that last night about 3AM that her coonhound Dan went crazy! He started screaming at the top of his lungs , while in his crate and she thought something was wrong with him so she jumped up and went to the door and he busted through the crate door and then lunged at her front door knocking it wide open -still screaming and dragging her out the door into the yard. She said he was frantic and trembling all over and still raising cain. So we pondered -could it have been some wildlife??? Deer-bear????

Then we had some weird time? She went to walk her coonhound before dark and I went to gather eggs. I found one of my little hens in a cage she did not belong in??? She was frantic to get back in Her cage so I put her back and looked high and low to see how that could have happened and there just was No explanation?????

Then Crystal came back down and I could tell she looked shaken??? She had taken Dan for his walk and found this across from the front door of her Tiny House.

We had both thought it was a compact until we discovered that it had a hidden message which confirmed it was a condom case?

You can tell it has not been out in the weather because it is too shiny and clean looking????

My daughter has an X husband who was Very Violent and a drug addict. They divorced 3 years ago and he had remarried and lived in another state. But about a month ago he and his wife had moved back to Va. - about 20 miles from us???? He would know our propery lines easily because he hunted and rode four wheelers all over the land????

He might not have anything at all to do with this but I decided to call the police and have it documented . So a very nice officer came and took our report and said they can have a vehicle drive by for a month and shine a light around. We told him we would appreciate that. But if it should be some person they would not be at the front of the property they would be on the back country  roads that drive to the sides of our property -out of sight of the house. So , things just have me scratching my hen and saying my prayers for Crystal's safety. At least she has Dan-who really does love his Mom . My small ones love her too and might chew someone off at the ankles since that is about as high as chihuahuas can reach. ~smile~

Another cold miserable day

But critters had to be tended to so I put a couple of the bunnies that I am baby-sitting out in little runs to get some exercise and fresh air. Indy just wanted to know how you play with these critters???

Daisy thought they looked like the perfect toy but at least they kept them amused while I throwed out ice and everybody got fresh water and gathered the eggs before they could freeze.

But I know Spring is coming. I did manage to take a tumble while outdoors and I was so grateful not to break my leg as I bent it all the way backwards-then got covered in mud as I attempted to get myself up off the cold ground. BRRRR.  I HATE cold weather.

BRRR - Zippered pouch

This was what I woke up to this morning and it turned out I was very smart because I took off with the pups and fed Yukon and all the chickens.

Then all day long it just got colder and colder and the wind was whipping and it turned miserable.

So I put on my thinking cap and went to work on making the two little zippered change purses I wanted to make for Crystal for her birthday with the Coke fabric I had found.

I even put little bead pulls on each of them.

Then I tromped back outdoors and collected my eggs before they turned into egg popsicles.  Brrrr!

Crazy Monday

It did not take long for Indy to learn how to get the treats from his toy. Matter of fact it is Too easy for him. I think I might need to tape up a couple of the holes?

They were calling for the chance of bad weather tonight and tomorrow so I headed to town to get the hinges I needed for the chicken door that fell off the hinges on me. The old hinges had just broke right half in to. I tried to put the new hinges on and did get them there but they are not right. I couldn't hold the door in the position it needed to be and hold the screws in the position they needed to be and operate the drill all at the same time. I got it temporarily on-but will need so find some blocks of something so I can prop the door and redo it????

I got home and dug all the chickens fresh greens. It always tickles me to see them tear into them. We humans need more of their style as greens are so good for us. I can't plant mine yet until I finish blocking those deer out of the garden as they have mowed my greens to the ground. I did get the plastic fencing and metal posts today and hope to work on that project AFTER this weather passes.

Today was my lovely daughter's birthday and she treated herself to getting her hair done. She got a little streak of pink put in her hair for fun. It is hard to believe that 44 years has flown by since I birthed her into this world. It is amazing how time flies by and the events that you will live through??????? I did not give her the life that I wanted to give her , but I gave her the best that I knew at the time. But, I still wish it could have been different .

It was 40 degrees here this afternoon and it was snowing????? Especially since I knew it could not stick at that temperature - it was very pretty. I do not know what we will end up with tonight as the weather people cannot make up their minds???? Rain ???? Snow????? I guess I will know when my eyeballs open in the morning? ~smile~

End of the Week

And I do not know what is going on but I have No LIFE at all. I am just totally whipped. Crystal has been sick this past week so I don't know if this is something from that or just ?????????????????????

All I know is that I got only the basics done today and that is it.  I Hate this cold and they are calling for another storm this coming week. It is suppose to be bad in the states up above us?????  I went to check for eggs tonight and one of the doors to one of the runs just fell off in my hands????????? Now I need some new hinges????

Crystal did bring home her son's Dakota's graduation picture and he is the BOMB! It was so hard to choose only one picture. lol

Sewing Guild Night

It has been a truly beautiful day here and Indy said he enjoyed it as he was not looking forward to the next week wearing sweaters again.

Cocoa and Daisy enjoyed the beautiful weather as I gathered the eggs and fed Yukon this afternoon.

Daisy and Indy tried to sneak in a nap in the flower bed as I was attempting to snap pictures of this beautiful day.

Tonight at the Sewing Guild meeting we are having a guest speaker talk about Knitting so I get to take my two knitting projects for show and tell. Of course I Muffed my last two rows on my scarf last night as I scurried to complete it in time to take it. I dropped all the stitches and it fell off of my hook - so with my poor eyesight I was not able to place them back on the way they should have gone - only enough to save me from tearing it all off and starting all over again! No way! lol

Size large booties

I went out this morning and fed Yukon, walked the pups and carried the eggs down to the road. Then while it was still chilly I worked on completing my size large booties while I was calm and pulled it off. So now I have two size mediums and one size large for Christmas. Yea!

I put wood in the stove and asked Indy if he was ready to go outdoors and do chores and he is Always ready. Maybe too much ready sometimes as I had to put him in a little corral to keep him from fussing with the donkey .

I carried the last of my bamboo poles down to the garden to work on the fence for the deer and they have made such a mess of it since they jumped Through the flimsy bird netting . I put two poles up higher and wired them in place and lifted a wire fence up to meet that in one area. Now I have about a 50 foot section they tore down that I will have to put up some kind of tall poles and something to outsmart them. I did see some snow-fencing at Rural King that looked cheap I might be able to use??
Then Crystal came home and said she saw all 6 of them in the garden so my work is still cut out for me. I just got really tired by the time I came back to the house and carried the wood up to the porch and came in and took a shower and got something to eat. But , my energy is really lagging.

This is Indy begging for his chicken for dinner. Wish I could have got him slidding his belly on the floor -that was really cute but this camera phone takes forever to get ready to take a picture.

By the time I have got it cut off the bone he is more than ready for it. It did not take him long to learn that he REALLY LOOKS forward to a chicken for dinner.

I am worried about Daisy - she has coughed off and on today and has slept a lot and not been playful???? I got her to eat, but she was not thrilled about it? I am  hoping it stays down and that she really is not sick???

Tuesday Comes and Goes

I had to make a trip to town bright and early this morning to get the macaroni that I forgot to get yesterday when I got the ingredients for the macaroni salad!GRRRR! Then I hurried home and made it-Yum- Yum - so good..Matter of fact I am drooling wanting some more. lol

Bandit came out to play with the rest of the crew as I dug weeds to feed the chickens....

Indy was ready to play as I hung up two loads of laundry for Crystal before the rain came. I carried the wood and got to do some cleaning in the house too. That as nice.

The wind was absolutely terrible today.  Crystal even came home sick this afternoon. I got tired tonight and only got one slipper finished . I started the second one but messed it up so I put it up until I feel better. Time just gets away from me.

A Walk and A New Pair of Cloud Footies

I had a busy morning as I had a counseling session and then I headed to the little grocery store because I was dying to fix a bowl of macaroni salad for Crystal and I to have for our dinner??
I grabbed the first of the ingredients and then a chicken for the pups and then Crystal had asked me to pick her up some Coke and I found that on sale . I was so anxious to get home and fix that macaroni. When I arrived home I carried the groceries in and grabbed two Cokes and took off up the hill to where I could see Crystal working in her yard. I gave her the Coke and told her I was going back to the house to make us some macaroni salad . I put everything away and when I gathered all the ingredients - I had FORGOT the Macaroni!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Boy, Was I Disappointed!! So we had left overs!

Then we went for a lovely walk. It was a little late so I fed Yukon so he would not follow us for a while.

For some reason Indy thinks he is suppose to jump on Crystal's Dan?????? So, I keep both of mine leashed close to me as I work on discouraging him not to do that. Dan thinks that little menace would make a fine squeaky toy of he could just be allowed to get ahold of him. LOL. We took them for a Nice Long Walk up in the woods and checked to see how Yukon managed to go visit the neighbor yesterday - the reason was that the Gate was Gone between our properties?????????????????????

Towards the end of the trek Dan had a big time rolling in the grass. We were all pretty pooped until we saw Yukon had finished his meal and found us in the pasture so as he came towards us we split up and both groups ran for the hill and he was plum mystified as to what we thought we were doing and he decided heck on us and turned and went towards the creek. LOL

We parted ways and I came down and gathered up some laundry and then carried the wood to the porch door as it is calling for rain -then gathered the eggs and Finally could come in the house. My cohorts kept an eye on me while I worked on the booties.

I am having better luck with these this year after the gal made a video and I got to catch my ONE little mistake that was throwing the entire project off.It really is a delight to finally be able to do a project and not ruin it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I like them plain- I feel like they need something on the front - maybe a pom-pom?????????

Start Of A New Week

It was another cold start to the morning but by afternoon Crystal and I were able to take the pups for a walk???

Or so we thought as I bragged on how good Dan was doing with his gentle lead. He had learned a lot from the week she had worked with him for only a few minutes each day.

But we were in for a turn of advents as we got further back - Yukon the donkey decided to join us and do away with the pups - since they look too much like coyotes to him???

Well, we made it to the second fence and scurried through a hole in the fence -now thinking we had it made????

Yukon had other ideas as he had now crawled through the fence with us!GRRRR!

So we turned back trying to lure him home -to which he stuck his tail up and said poo on us -he was going on his own adventure and would have nothing to do with us?

So we headed home -hoping he would follow - NOT!

All of the pups were giving me grief when I got home about it was time for them to have their chicken so I had to feed them and then feed Crystal and me.  It was a short while later a neighbor called and had a white donkey in her yard? I told her that I HOPED he would come home on his own and if not I would get him tomorrow. After I hung up I felt like a total slacker - a bad neighbor - and then there he was wanting his supper too!!!!!!!!!!!! So, I will have to do some fence work on that donkey!

I got a lot of chores finished and when I was writing this post I happened to look down and notice that Daisy is laying besie me with an Antler in her mouth - SLEEPING!!!!!!!!!! I thought that was the cutest thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To top off my evening I pulled out my new yarn I had got a month ago and managed to pull off my first pair of those Cloud Booties for this year.  I do like the yarn but was disgusted with myself because I had thought I had found a real deal - only to discover that there was only HALF as much yarn in these new skeins??????? BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O you will enjoy this one : I was trying to put the turkeys up and could not find the baby turkey so I circled all around the yard and could find nothing but 5 feathers so I was beginning to think a hawk had snatched him. I was heading to the house to look on the other side when Crystal had appeared and laughed and called my attention that he was UP IN THE TREE!!!!!!!!!!! As I looked up trying to figure out how to get him down from there he politely Pooped all over me !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say he did Go IN THE CAGE and will probably not be allowed out until next Winter????/ ~smile~

End of the Week Rest

It was such a blasted cold morning that I put Indy's sweater and
Daisy's fleece jacket on them for our morning walk. I put on my warmest fleece jacket and gloves and we had a nice shorter walk.

I cannot take off in the pasture as Indy and Yukon do not really like each other at this point. Yukon sees Indy as a coyote who should be done away with so we are staying in the yard for now.

I got the stove cleaned out and the wood carried in and fixed a pot of lentil stew. It says you can put it over rice if you want to and I am thinking that might be good with some salmon? I really am torn about salmon - they suggest it heavily for macular degeneration but I prefer my vegetarian diet??? Life can get so complicated.

I am just really whipped today and tomorrow will be a day outdoors mostly so the slower day is needed.

Daisy is slowly recovering from her surgery -she still cannot jump up on a chair as she asks me for help getting up and down.

Coco came out with us this afternoon when it was time to
gather the eggs.

Indy was having a blast gathering eggs UNTIL he rolled in Turkey Poo just to make himself so special for me and then had to have a bath-which he did not enjoy???

Doctor Day and Daisy coat

We started off with  a very cold morning and even some
snowshowers. They were very pretty but not much fun after
60 and 70 degree days!

I fixed Crystal and I some biscuits and potatoes and eggs for breakfast and then got ready to go to the doctor.  I dropped off  two dozen eggs at a neighbors house to surprise her as people have been buying the eggs I put down at the road with the honor system.  I did not put any out today as it was freezing and when I went out I was glad I did not because these high winds had blowed my table over. lol

The doctor did a special osteopathic massage on my neck and we talked about the x-ray and the arthritis it showed in my neck. When she showed me posture moves I told her that it made it hurt down in my back and that I did not know if the pain in my back was from the fibro or something else -so that lead to that I will have to have an evaluation with her with my back before we know what I am facing. She wants me to have an MRI but wants to get this other evaluation in to decide if they can do both things as i will have to be sedated. I am super claustrophobic!! This getting older is getting to be very tricky as I am not use to being sick-in any form.

I left there and went and picked up my thyroid meds at Walmart and some eye meds  and headed down to Rural King where I had got my feed yesterday. It was getting late and I got lucky and got a parking spot as someone was leaving. I hurried in and explained to the young lady how I did not get all of my feed yesterday and was checking to see if I could get it and 3 more bags for the donkey and we got that taken care of. I told the young lady that I loved their store and all the employees were so very sweet.

I came on home and saw Crystal had put out some laundry and it was on the ground because of the wind. I picked it up and hung it back up for her.

With it being so cold I decided I wanted Daisy to have a jacket. I had tried a crochet one and did not like it so I had a piece of fleece left over from my jacket 5 years ago. I cut out some pieces and put them together and she now has a little fleece jacket to get us through the next month and then we should be in good shape.

What a Day

It started out with me taking Daisy to be neutered as the agreement with the Humane Society. She was very upset at taking the trip as I think she thought she was being taken back to the pound and she cried her distress the entire way. I am so attached that I actually cried to leave her.  Then I came home and did chores and was attempting to put some screws in my car door where my trim had come loose and was flapping in the wind. I had tried every glue known to mankind during the last year and none would hold it so I gave up and was putting two screws in it. It was giving me a fit and then this Gosh Awful Storm hit and like to blowed me into another county. I looked up at the big trees and they were laying down to the ground.

I trotted up to check on where Crystal was working on her fence and reminded her to watch the trees above her and then the rain came and I headed back down to the house - only to have the electricity go out as I entered!GRRRRR! Then it stayed out for the next 8 hours! I was so miffed because everything I wanted to do required electricity.

Finally it was time to load up and go get Daisy and Crystal showed up to drive me. I was tickled to death since it was still raining.

You can imagine my shock when they told me at the vets that she had been Pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mind was so distressed at the thought that maybe some big dog had got ahold of her and if they would have just throwed her away and she could not have the pups and would have died in labor????? I was beyond distressed.

I had paid extra to have her micro-chipped only to discover once I got home that I now had to pay Extra to register the chip with another company??? It would have been nice if someone would have told me that at the beginning so I would have known what to expect?

But now to just get her through this healing process and be happy.
